Preity Zinta in Mahesh Manjrekar’s film ‘White’.

Preity Zinta, who has worked with Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan as well as Salman Khan, has been maintaining a low profile for the past few days. She was considered one of the leading actresses till a few years back but of late, she has been almost invisible from the screen.

In fact, she had done a film titled ‘Har Pall’ that starred defamed actor Shiney Ahuja but the film has not been released owing to unknown reasons. Speaking of that unreleased movie Preity has cited that she is not sure when the film will release. “I don’t know when the movie will release. The producer-director (Jahnu Barua) should know. I hope that everyone gets to see the movie soon,” she states.

But, there is a good news for her fans. She may soon be seen back on the screen in actor-cum-director Mahesh Manjrekar’s film ‘White’. Mahesh is, currently, busy shooting for Salman Khan starrer ‘Ready’ in which he is acting. After wrapping it up, he shall be beginning work on ‘White’.

Preity Zinta Shocked over termination of IPL teams

Shattered, shocked and still absorbing it! The Rajasthan Royals co-owner Shilpa Shetty and Punjab Kings XI co-owner Preity Zinta are still under shock and don’t know how to react to the termination of their respective IPL teams.

The two teams came under scanner because of the breach in their IPL contracts. As a daily reports, on Sunday, the BCCI, after its meeting with the IPL governing council, announced that the two franchises’ contracts were being terminated with immediate effect for violating shareholding and ownership patterns.

The actresses are ready to take the case to the court. Shilpa tweets about this decision, “This is for all those who want my reaction ‘Honestly too shocked to react, just disheartened... cause it’s more than just a team for us! Still havn’t received the termination, will react after. Need to know the basis of this decision.’ In London now (sic).”

While Preity writes on Twitter, “Still absorbing the News! After working so hard in the IPL & putting my everything building this team dis is not what I expected! Shocked !”
It’s believed that the suspended former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has had financial interest in both the teams. The two teams were also allegedly benefitted because of the Modi connection.

After hearing about the decision, Rajasthan Royals captain, Shane Warne, hopes that BCCI would come to their ‘senses’.

Preity Zinta spent day with Serena Willams

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta says she enjoyed a dinner with Tennis ace Serena Williams during her US trip.

Preity posted a picture on her microblogging site Twitter and wrote: ‘At Dinner with Serena Williams! She is absolutely wonderful and full of life. Love her style.’

‘Meeting Serena was definitely inspiring! Must confess I am a huge fan! It takes a lot to be No.1,’ she added.

The actress also got an opportunity to meet late singer Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine and his wife as she was in New York for the India Day parade at Times Square to celebrate India’s Independence Day.

She has posted a picture of that too saying: ‘Met Jermaine Jackson and his beautiful wife Halima for dinner.’

Is Preity Zinta the richest girl in Bollywood today? It would seem so. The pretty co-owner of the Punjab IPL team, rough estimates say, is worth a whole lot of moolah.

Preity’s stake in her cricket team alone is valued at around Rs 350 to Rs 400 crores. Some cricket experts say the figure is higher. Besides which, the actress is also likely to be the legal heir of Shandar Amrohi, who is one of the co-owners of Kamalistan Studios (that originally belonged to Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi).
This property is also valued at hundreds of crores and is the cynosure of the eyes of several builders. There is a strong rumour that suggests that at some point, the astute business woman that she is, Preity will sell some part of her IPL stake and redevelop the Kamalistan property alongwith a high-profile builder from Pune. Preity Zinta will adorn the cover page of People's magazine for one of upcoming month’s edition. The gorgeous diva has already shot for the same.

Preity confirms the news and says, “I shot for the People’s magazine yesterday. It was great fun. I am really excited about one of their forthcoming editions which will feature me on the cover page.”

‘Superwoman’ Preity shoot Emami Cooking Oil commercial

On the cricket field, they may belong to rival IPL teams but when Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain of Chennai Super Kings) and Preity Zinta (co-owner of Kings XI Punjab) came together for an ad shoot yesterday, all rivalry was forgotten. Mahi and Preity shot a commercial for Emami Cooking Oil and if these pics are anything to go by, the chemistry between them was indeed there for one and all to see. Dhoni was dressed in a Gladiator like avatar, while PZ was given a Super-woman like get-up with a body-hugging silver dress and a red cape to go with.

While the commercial was directed by noted ad-man Prahlad Kakkar, a special photo shoot featuring the duo was done by ace-photographer Dabboo Ratnani. We got in touch with Dabboo and asked him about his experience of this special photo shoot, “It was a great experience shooting with Preity and Dhoni. They first shot for the commercial with Prahlad Kakkar and then did this photo-shoot which we will use in the ad posters. I’ve shot with Preity countless times before, she is very charming and a complete sweetheart to work with. As for Dhoni, this was probably the second or third time that I was doing a shoot with him. He is extremely cool, chilled out and very receptive. He was totally involved in the photo shoot, putting in his 100% effort and was very comfortable in front of the camera. All in all, we had a great time.”

The commercial is likely to go on air in ten days from now when Dhoni’s Men In Blue will be busy taking on the South African cricket team in what promises to be a grueling contest.

Preity Zinta sign up on Twitter

Bollywood’s dimpled beauty Preity Zinta has joined Twitter for eliminating her faker, who has currently 1,40,000 followers.

Preity came to know about the faker after her friend informed her. “The fake was using various quotes of mine from old interviews. Ask her or him to show the dimple then we shall see!”

She mentioned that she will verify her account and update her photograph. Preity, i her post, said, “Just wanted to see for myself that someone was impersonating me! I felt that people were being cheated by a fake me.”

Preity was given a warm welcome by Karan Johar where as Ritesh Deshmukh sent her a “real kiss”, both for her entry into Twitter.

Preity Zinta Salman at "Being Human"

Preity Zinta played the role of a perfect cheerleader for dear friend Salman Khan whose "Being Human" show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week here late Tuesday saw many celebrities strutting down the ramp.
Dressed in a "Being Human" sleeveless T-shirt and sporting a new look with fringes falling perfectly on her forehead, the actress looked as ravishing as ever.

Sitting with her friend choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan and fashion designer Manish Malhotra, the actress started shouting from the very first moment when Salman Khan started the show and sashayed down the ramp.

"Wow! Salman! Salman!," shouted Zinta and continued clapping till he left the ramp.

It was not just for Salman, she also cheered for other celebrities like Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan with equal enthusiasm.

Preeti Zinta to work with Aamir for Aamir khan production

Aamir Khan and Preeti Zinta made a romantic pair in Farhan Akhtar's directorial debut "Dil Chahta Hai" and now Aamir and Preity are all set to create the magic again. Preity and Aamir will be seen together in a forthcoming film produced by Aamir Khan Productions.

Aamir has signed a debutant director Shoumik Sen to direct this film starring Aamir himself in the lead and it's Preity Zinta on his mind for the female lead.

Industry sources confirm that Aamir is already in talks with Preity for the film that will go on floors after the release of "Delhi Belly".

Bengali filmmaker Shoumik has started working on the script for this flick. Aamir has the habit of keeping his projects under wraps and so this time too, he would make an announcements at the right time.

'Anything for Salman,’ says Preity

The no make-up and tee-wearing Preity Zinta has vanished and the Bollywood actress is back to doing what she does best – looking glamorous!

“IPL was the summer movie I did and enjoyed thoroughly. And after it is over, I am missing every single member of my team,” says the actress who was known to hug her players after her team had a home run.

But she never got a chance to do it in semi-finals after her team bowed out? “The semi-final was our worst-performance day. But irrespective of that, I feel that the team performed really well. I am very proud of the boys,”

So, it is back to the greasepaint? “Totally! I am back in the world of action. My movies Har Pal and Heroes are almost ready. You will see me a lot on the silver screen after seeing me on the small screen,” she laughs. Her movies are very special to her. “That’s because I live for myself and no one else. So the movies that I have done are the ones I wanted to be a part of. And when I am a part of something, I give my heart and soul to it.”

And what about going super-glam in an item number she is doing in Salman Khan-starrer Main Aur Mrs Khanna . “We are still discussing that. It is a special song and nothing has been finalised yet. But the deal is – I will do anything for my buddy Salman,” PZ clarifies.

But many of her friends are nursing bruised egos because she didn’t invite them to watch her team’s matches. “I apologise to the people who expected me to send them invites to watch my team play. However, it was work and not a party. When I don’t have to send invites for the premieres of my movie, why should I send invites for the matches? In fact, I would have felt great if these people would have come, bought the tickets and watched our matches. But it was definitely not a party,” Preity says.
